A Word In Edgewise, Inc. (AWIE) is committed to our community. In addition to lowering prices in 2010, we will contribute one specific item or service throughout the year, to local not-for-profits whose purpose include promoting acceptance, equality, safety or education to our youth.
- At the suggestion of PABA member Michelle Lagos, we chose the Sexual Minority Youth Resource Center. Their organization will not pay for business cards in 2010.
- AWIE donated to the PABA Silent Auction.
- AWIE also created a new Web site for the Oregon Holocaust Resource Center to display Holocaust Remembrances in our community around the time of Yom HaShoah (April 11th).

A Word In Edgewise, Inc. (AWIE) has been a Portland Area Business Association (PABA) member for five years and Christopher Reed served for a time on their Board of Directors. AWIE donated videography and editing services to PRIDE Northwest at the 2007 event in Portland. We are also members of the Portland International District Business Association in our NE Portland Roseway neighborhood.
We also support HRC, BRO, Portland’s Q-Center, SMYRC, GLSEN, and Manifest Mens Wellness Community in an effort to offer everyone a safe, friendly community – and world – in which to live and thrive. We guarantee confidentiality in all business we conduct.
Christopher H. Reed, CEO, recently completed five years on the Board of Directors with the Oregon Holocaust Resource Center (OHRC). The OHRC is the steward for the Oregon Holocaust Memorial in Washington Park, Portland, Oregon. One of the few Memorials to recognize all victims of the Holocaust, including, priests, Gypsies, handicapped, Russian POWs, and those in the homosexual community, this Memorial is truly connected to our community.
AWIE produced and donated a Virtual Tour of the Memorial, available for viewing on their site. In Addition, we designed, host and maintain the OHRC and Pacific Northwest Remembers Web sites as a community service. If you have a group of five or more individuals, the OHRC can arrange to have a docent give a guided tour of the Memorial. If you would like a personal tour, call Chris directly to arrange it.
