Christopher H. Reed, CEO of A Word In Edgewise, Inc., sits on the Executive Board with the Oregon Holocaust Resource Center. In June, he begins his fifth term with the organization. “The OHRC is a not-for-profit, non-denominational educational organization dedicated to communicating the lessons of the Holocaust to students, teachers, and the general public in Oregon and southwest Washington, in fulfillment of the testament left by the victims to the survivors: to remember, to record, to explain, and to enlighten future generations.”
The OHRC is the steward for the Oregon Holocaust Memorial in Washington Park, Portland, Oregon, and is one of the few Memorials to recognize all victims of the Holocaust, including, priests, Gypsies, handicapped, Russian POWs, and those in the homosexual community. A Word In Edgewise, Inc. produced and donated a Virtual Tour of the Memorial, available for viewing on their site. In Addition, AWIE designed, hosts and maintains the OHRC Web site. If you have a group of five or more individuals, the OHRC can arrange to have a docent give a guided tour of the Memorial. If you would like a personal tour, call Chris to arrange it.
In addition to volunteering for several years with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (Multnomah/Hood River Counties Chapter), he served one year as the Oregon State Representative for the chapter. Although no longer serving in a volunteer capacity, he still is a member of MADD, and financially supports the organization. Click the logo to visit their Web site.
